It is some religious figure. I guess it is one of the diciples because he (or she?) is standing next to Jesus on the cross.
But it looks pretty interesting in sepia, I think.

This image (since it is a woman at the cross) would most likely be the Blessed Mother Mary. Less likely would be Mary Magdelane, or Mary the mother of John (both of whom were, historically, indicated to be farther back from the cross). John remained near the Bless Mother.
